It begins with a point cloud, composed of millions of data points collected through 3D scanning of an existing structure. You or our team must register the point cloud (also called scan matching), which is the process of stitching the individual scans together. This forms the basis for a digital model. We then model the entire building or system to the desired level of detail (LOD). We’re capable of LOD 300 models and lower. Scan to BIM can be utilized as a starting point for redesign & renovation, for spatial coordination, or facility operations.
